Soft Black
Natural Soft black is great for people who have black hair and strands of white or gray, OR people who have gray hair or white hairEarthDye soft black beard dye -1 step process. Natural soft black hair and beard dye are very soft, meaning very light. If you want a 1 step black, we recommend our pure indigo. If you want a “jet black,” we recommend our two-step black. People with gray or white strands of black hair can use this product to blend in coverage doing entire hair. If you have white hair growing in from the roots, it might not be dark enough and might require a second application 24 hours later; for jet black, just add indigo; the more indigo you add, the darker it will become.
EarthDye Soft black beard dye works on all hair types. Lighter-colored hair, such as “white” or “bleached blond,” will need a two-step black or dark brown with pure indigo mixed in to make it black. This is an all-natural plant product with no chemicals, PPD, Ammonia, or metallic salts.
EarthDye Soft Black Beard Dye
No chemicals mean this color will not lighten your current hair color. This color will turn gray/silver/brown/red hair to a soft black or black shade. Any darker strands of hair will darken to black.
100 grams of powder is enough to do facial hair multiple times, depending on the length and thickness of the hair. If you trim your facial hair weekly, you may have to re-apply once the dyed hair is trimmed. If you keep the hair length, you only need to do touch-ups as the new hair growth becomes noticeable.
Instructions & Ingredients:
This packet includes 100 Grams (3.5 ounces). Natural Black (enough to do 30 goatees and several full beards; only mix what you need, and store the rest in a cool, dry place sealed)

Hair Application:
Wash your hair twice with clarifying shampoo, omitting conditioner, and towel dry before application. Towel-dried hair is best, but dry hair is okay. Do not forget to wear gloves and cover the floors and clothes. Only use what you need and store the rest in a cool, dry place, sealed. Powder is good for six months to one year after being opened.
Mix the powder with enough warm tap water (approximately 1 ¼ to 1 ½ cups per 100 grams) until you achieve a pudding-like consistency. Apply immediately to the hair, starting from the back to the front in layers, pressing the pastedown as you progress. If using a shower cap afterward, ensure that holes in the shower cap are punctured for airflow.
Leave the product in your hair for 45 minutes to one hour, but no longer than 1.5 hours, and rinse until the water runs clear. If you have thick or curly hair, you can use a cream conditioner to aid in rinsing. Shampoo hair 12 to 24 hours after rinsing.
Beard Application:
Failure to follow these instructions will result in poor results. EarthDye is permanent and easy to apply.
Gently clean facial hair/sideburns with shampoo using a toothbrush or beard brush twice. Avoid scrubbing vigorously, as this can irritate the skin. Not using a brush will not eliminate facial oil, so be sure to use one!
Mix enough tap water (do not use distilled or bottled water) to achieve a thick pudding consistency (only mix what you need and store the remaining powder in a Ziplock bag in a cool, dry place).
Using a spoon or application brush, apply evenly to facial hair until completely covered. Ensure to cover all hairs; if the tips of the hair stick out, they will not be colored, resulting in a peppered effect. Leave on for 45-60 minutes, but no longer than 1.5 hours, and rinse. You can shampoo 12-24 hours later, but no longer than 48 hours.
Tips For Hair And Beard:
Gray or white hair may turn red/green for the first 12 hours, darkening overnight. Dye hair early in the evening.
The dye will not permanently stain the face or hairline. If dye is present on the face, it will fade within several hours.
Oil treatments can prevent browns and reds from working as well. If performing oil treatments, wash the hair three times prior to application.

wish i had taken a before picture but i forgot. i started with hair that had been dyed conventionally at a salon and had several inches of roots, which are about 50% grey and the rest light brown/dark dirty blonde. the picture im attaching was taken after two applications of the henna/indigo mix. the first application i had used a different brand. the earth dye is SO much better than the first brand i tried, in every possible way! it mixed up better with a consistency that was easy to apply, and when I rinsed it out it did not immediately clog my shower drain like the first brand did! im very happy with the results and will continue to use this product as my greys grow out. i may try adding a bit of extra indigo next time. the color right now is gorgeous and dimensional, with some highlights where my greys are.
The Soft Black is wonderful, I've found that it's even better with the addition of some of the Pure Indigo because it gives a deeper rich color.

Very good been getting this product for a good while
So delighted I found earth dye. I suffer from allergies & cannot use any kind of dye on my hair.. I have to say since using Earth Dye , my hair is so good Colour stay brilliant, I have no irritation .Best company so happy I found the 🙏

Unfortunately bad experience . First go was very light so had to do a second and the white bear looks awful as it looks a very silver metal colour that looks very unnatural . I will now need to wait for it to wear out . Embarrassed to go out as it looks very unnatural .

So happy to have found Earth Dye! I have chemical sensitivities and have not dyed my hair in years. But when I found this I felt it would be safe to give it a try - and to cover up greys that have started to appear. Soft black works great for me! I have really long hair, so I needed to use 2 packs to cover all my hair the first time. But since then I just use one pack for the hair framing my face, and at the nape for when I wear my hair up. Usually lasts about 1.5 - 2 months before needing to reapply. Thank you!
Softblack worked well and I waited a bit longer, 3 hours, to ensure the coverage on my grey. Most henna product requires overnight or 6 hours of waiting period but this product is better. I feel the henna particle is finer and smaller in size than other brands.
I only don't have a whole lot of greys, but I've used this in my beard to helps darken them in a subtle way, so it blends well and looks natural. I noticed better results leaving it it longer. I have no interest in using synthetic dyes, so this is a great option!

The only thing missing is mixing instructions if you don?t need to use the whole package of dye for short hair or a beard. Combed the whole site but could not find any specific instructions other than mixing the whole contents of the package with 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 water for the 100 grams for a pudding consistency which if you have short hair is a waste. On the packaging it states ?mix as much as you need? for beard instructions which seems very vague. Smaller batch instructions would be helpful on the website.

This was the first time I used hair coloring to cover up my now ubiquitous gray hairs. I was intimidated, but all ended up GREAT. I was looking for a not-drastic approach (I was scared) and favored a non toxic solution. I cannot say how much I love the color, how natural it looked and how the (very) slow fading gives me the flexibility to choose when I want to reapply since it blends WITH my color as opposed to drastically change it. On top of all that, the product did wonders for my hair, which was going through a brittle frizzy phase -- it worked like an ultra conditioning treatment. I highly recommend for its own merits and to know it is NATURAL and I can breathe, touch, wash normally is just the icing on top of the cake. It does smells very earthy but only while applying and we laughed at the "spinach paste" look it has but that in no way detracts from the whole experience. Top product, serious folks. Five stars for Soft Black Natural Hair Dye and five stars for Earth Dye as the shopping, shipping and customer service were also great. Thank you!!!

After trying other store permanent dyes and suffering from allergic reactions and itchiness from the chemicals inside them, I decided to try out a purely natural product. And it worked!! No reaction or itchiness. Plus no skin staining. Definitely getting more.
After developing an allergy to traditional hair dye, I was pleasantly surprised at this product. Covers greys well, and no itching/burning/rash! Hair is very soft and shiny as well!

Great hair dye I use the Sort Black with the the Natural Black package to get a even richer black color!
I have been using EarthDye (formerly Harvest Moon) for many years. Their hair dye is so easy so use and the colors come out so nice. I was using Medium Brown for years but have switched to Dark Brown. Since my hair is extremely course and I am getting more gray hair, the dark brown is contrasting more with my dark hair. I plan on trying this soft black. I am sure it will come out beautiful as the henna also leaves your hair shiny.
